Here, one will get clear of flora and fauna of Gorumara National Park that are demonstrated with light and sound. There is also a mini deer park beside the centre. Permit to visit the forests of Gorumara, Jungle Safari, Chapramari, Chukchuki and Khunia Watch tower is issued from this centre. The centre remains closed on Thursdays. CHUKCHUKI WATCH TOWER Kalamati Chukchuki Watch Tower is half an hour ride from Panchavati. One can get a birds-eye view of the forest valley from there. KHUNIA : Khunia Watch tower is 25 minutes ride from Panchavati. Tourists are welcome to visit this tower with prior permission from the interpretation centre at Lataguri. Visitors staying at Panchavati will get assistance as a guide as well as permit to visit the tower. CHAPRAMARI / MURTI : Chapramari, 32 kms from Panchavati is famous for its jungle and elephants. From here, one can proceed towards Murti. Here a huge wetland is a must see for bird watchers. JALPESH TEMPLE : Jalpesh Temple, situated on the banks of river Jorda is about 22 kms from Panchavati. This temple of Lord Shiva, constructed by the king of Coochbehar, has a look of mosque of North India. A big fair called Jalpesh Mela is held during Shiva Ratri attended by large number of devotees.
